The super-efficient Rapids Mini Power Filter provides the best in 3-stage filtration, aerating and cleaning the aquarium"s water 80 gallons per hour. Water is pumped through the efficient filter, removing undesirable particulate material while purifying the water with highly absorbing activated carbon, then through the Bio-Insert which supports beneficial bacteria that work to remove toxic ammonia and nitrite.
Rapids Power Filter is constructed of only the highest quality parts and materials, providing a powerful, quiet, energy efficient filter. The self-priming, enclosed, and sealed motor delivers superb flow rate with minimal heat transfer to the aquarium because the transformer is located at the plug receptacle.
To ensure optimum performance, replace the Rapids Filter Media every two to three weeks depending on the number of animals and daily feeding habits. Under normal operation, it is not necessary to clean or replace the ceramic cylinders. If the ceramic cylinders become heavily soiled, remove the ceramic cylinders and gently rinse them in dechlorinated tap water. Chlorinated tap water can destroy the beneficial bacteria, so always use room temperature water that has been treated with a water conditioner, such as AquaLife Complete.
