Abstract

Pacific Coast Imports Calcium Reactor Instructions

Thank you for purchasing a quality product from Pacific Coast Imports. Below are instructions for proper installation and operation of your calcium reactor.

If you have any problems installing please contact us directly at: [email protected].

1. Open top of calcium reactor and add media to the chamber. Add media so that it is level just below the pump. DO NOT REMOVE ANY HOSES FROM THE PUMP.
2. Attach flow regulator with protective screen to the top of the unit.
3. Attach the enclosed hose to the calcium reactor drain hole and place it in the sump.
4. Fill bubble counter with water and attach it to the reactor. You may need to inject the bubble counter with water.
5. Attach the hose from bubble counter to the Co2 regulator and tank.
6. Plug in the calcium reactor pump; the water should be flowing through reactor now.
7. By tightening screw on the flow regulator, you will have the ability to control the amount of water entering and exiting the reactor. The water return to the sump should be a fast drip.
8. Turn on the Co2 and count the bubbles going into the bubble counter. There should be about 20 drips of Co2 per minute.
*Depending on system bio-load, you may need more or less Co2. You may determine this by testing your aquarium to adjust calcium and alkalinity levels.* Calcium levels should be roughly 400-450 ppm. Alkalinity levels should be roughly 9-12 dkh.
