Food for Reefs
|
Phytoplankton is the foundation of all life on land and sea. Pretty big statement, but it is true. The delicate food web of the sea and your aquarium is dependent on these microscopic organisms to convert light into energy. The natural ocean provides uncountable quantities of phytoplankton and zooplankton which in turn feed coral, clams, and invertebrates keeping them healthy and fast growing. Let's take a look at some of the common phytoplanktons and products you can find them in.

PhycoPure is the most diverse blend on the market. It also has a high amount of biomass per unit volume which not many products can claim, which means people are getting more algae in each package. It is designed to to be a general feed for a wide range of organisms that require a diverse particle size that are nutritionally appropriate.
Coral Smoothie-
This is a convenience product. All you do is cut the tip, just like a caulking gun, submerse it in the tank; point 'n shoot. It stimulates
corals (Acans thru Zooanthids). Other inverts like it as well such as peppermint shrimp, snails, etc. Anthias also respond. People have used
Coral Smoothie to get Anthias onto dry feeds. They pour Coral Smoothie into the tank and as the Anthias get excited and start looking for food
they add the pellets or flake food. The Anthias usually eat it right away.
