Internal filtration is one of the most overlooked forms of filtration for freshwater aquariums. These little gadgets have many benefits:
1. They are internal so you don't have to think about leaks!
2. Since the filter is inside the aquarium you can place the aquarium against a wall or shelf, which is helpful if you're limited on space.
3. They are quiet!
While these filters are great for smaller tanks, they can't handle too many fish, so make sure your system isn't overcrowded. Many people are concerned with the oxygen content of water with internal filters. If you look at the Sicce internal filters they have taken care of that for you!
The SICCE Shark Internal Filters feature a venturi system with sophisticated suction to improve oxygenation. Other filters, such as the Dive Clean Mini, have spray bars to help with oxygenation in small aquariums.
