The fragile plate coral belongs to the diaseris family, closely resembling the fungia family. These coral have almost the same care requirements when it comes to food and lighting as well as water chemistry. What sets these corals apart is the fact that they grow to have almost noticeable frag points. They develop sections or break points that can be easily snapped in half. Given good water and lighting conditions these coral heal quickly and begin to form another plate.
