The Flame Hawk is a vibrant, active, and alert saltwater fish. They require very clean and highly oxygenated water, which makes them a great reef fish. They are primarily carnivorous, brine shrimp is a staple in the wild for these fish, however their diet should be supplimented with other foods in captivity. They like to perch on corals and rocks. When approached they usually dart back into the rocks and corals for protection. They can be trained to sit on your hand and feed. Compatibal with most all other fish besides other hawks. They can live in groups, but it is one male to multiple females. This happens naturally because all Flame Hawks are born female. When a group of females gets together, a single female will become more dominant and change genders into the male. Then the male breeds with all the females in his harem. Usually they only get about 3 inches in length.
