The new Fluval C Power Filters from the Rolf C. Hagen (USA) Corp. have been designed to have all the great qualities that Fluval is known for - and more. Fluval C Power Filters are even more convenient and easier to use than their predecessors; but what makes them unique is the 5 Stages of Filtration, a world first, designed to not only remove impurities and create crystal clear, healthy water, but also to be easy for aquarium enthusiasts to maintain.
Here is a brief outline of the five stages:
Stage 1 is the first Mechanical stage, during which a porous foam captures large particles in the water.
Stage 2 is also Mechanical, during which a dense poly layer filters out fine debris that the porous foam did not capture.
Stage 3 is Chemical, during which the activated carbon absorbs unwanted odors, discolorations, and impurities, creating crystal clear water.
Stage 4 is the first Biological stage, during which the exclusive Bio-Screen blocks debris from entering, while the Micro Weave core provides massive biological surface area.
Stage 5, the second Biological stage, has the Biological Trickle Chamber with C-Nodes, enriched with oxygen to quickly convert toxic ammonia and nitrite for a healthy aquarium.
Also equipped with a patented re-filtration system, Fluval C Power Filters are especially ideal for aquariums with delicate fish and plants that require gentle water flow. This exclusive system enables the filter to slow the water output while simultaneously increasing filtration dwell time within the filter, resulting in cleaner aquarium water with no harm to its inhabitants.
Fluval C Power Filter is user friendly and designed for quick and easy maintenance. A cleaning indicator on the top pops up when the poly/foam pad, which slips out easily, needs rinsing. A draw tab on the chemical basket allows for simple removal.
